As a minstrel (literally "minor servant") in the Peel houshold, Julian serves as singer, juggler, waferer, dog-handler, and worker at whatever odd jobs Lady Joan sends her way.
Julian's late husband, Nicolas, had been training her to join im as a waite, and Julian still practices her instruments with an eye on gaining entry into a minstrels' guild or band of town waites. |
