John Goddescalke is a lad from Norfolk who went to London to seek his fortune. When that didn't work out, he he enlisted with the Buckingham-Knollys chevauchée in the summer of 1380.
After being returned to Southampton, he realized that money was easier to come by as a soldier and signed on with Sir Geoffrey. And, no, he wasn't in London during the recent uprising. (Or so he says.) |
